Polk starts study to widen Kathleen Road

Four-lane stretch of County Road 35A in Kathleen

Kathleen Road widening is moving to the study phase in Polk County. This is a study, not construction.

On Oct 20, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement worth about 2.15 million (2,148,563.40) with Patel, Greene & Associates.

Task 1 is an alignment study of roughly 540 days. It covers widening Kathleen Road from Duff Road to W Socrum Loop Road, plus a new alignment from W Socrum Loop Road to Rockridge Road.

Design plans come back to the board later. About 2 million comes through FDOT's federal Local Agency Program. There is no construction date or construction cost yet.
